In 2003 the polish branch of Project Management Institute (PMI Warsaw, Poand Chapter) was founded. Its main goal was ambitious to develop project management in Poland both in practice and in theory, to support any activities in this topic and to broaden social consciousness of this field of science.
The mission of PMI is to promote professionalism and competences of project managers in business, in non-governmental organizations and in universities.
May 2007 was another important time for PMI in Poland the Association was rearranged into six branches in the biggest cities in Gdansk, Wroclaw, Cracow, Warsaw and Lodz.
PMI Poland Chapter provides many different activities in which the most important ones are: managing information center for all people interested in project management, creating project like conferences, seminars, trainings and publicity activities. Moreover, PMI is trying to develop PMI certification system in Poland.
